Probank, a new bank in the Greek market with ten branch offices that will soon be fifteen and qualified executives, who have extensive experience and come from successful co-operations with other banks specialized in the field of SMEs, has recently selected Compaq Non-Stop Himalaya servers.
More analytically, in order to support its presence in the retail banking field and serve individuals by offering various products, such as consumer, housing credit and all credit card products, Probank procured and completed the installation of two Compaq Non-Stop Himalaya S74 systems.

In particular, the first Non-Stop Himalaya server is used for the system of the bank, through which management of ATMs is conducted. This system is linked with the 10 branch offices of the bank, while the addition of more branch offices within 2002 is expected. The application through which the management of ATMs is conducted is Base 24. The other server is used as a backup system for disaster recovery of the aforementioned system as well as for testing and development.

Dienekis Information Systems S.A. conducted the installation of these two systems one month earlier than the scheduled plan.

Non-Stop Himalaya servers are designed to offer seamless operation (24X7) and are used by companies that require constant availability of their applications, such as banks, stock exchanges and telecommunication organizations. According to the company D. H. Brown Associates, Inc., 95% of security transactions and 80% of ATM transactions are based worldwide on Non-Stop Himalaya servers.

In Greece, these servers are available from Compaq Computer Ltd., through its exclusive agent Dienekis Information Systems S.A. (www.dienekis.gr)
